YouTube earnings questions

How is the estimate calculated?

Monthly views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. For example, 100,000 views at a $3 RPM gives $300 a month.

RPM is your revenue per 1,000 views after YouTube’s share, including ads, Premium and other YouTube revenue. Use views and RPM from the same period. More about RPM

How much could 1 million views earn?

At the example $1–$5 RPM, one million long-form views would earn $1,000–$5,000. Actual rates vary with your topic, audience and monetization.

Do I need a monetized channel?

You can explore any scenario here. To earn the revenue shown, your channel needs access to YouTube’s monetization features.

What about Shorts and other income?

Shorts use a different revenue model, so leave those views out. Sponsorships, affiliate income and product sales are also excluded.

What about sponsors?
